Windows 11 gets a facelift thanks to Rebound 11, a tool developed by fans that enhances the Microsoft operating system

Published:

For months, Microsoft has been focused on maximizing the virtues of Windows 11 to attract as many users as possible. That’s why they have announced updates like improving file transfer (although recommended for more experienced users) or, looking further ahead in terms of ambition, the arrival of Windows 11 24H2. However, there is a community of OS enthusiasts who have decided to scrutinize the user interface of Windows 11.

The latest Windows 11 update minimizes file copy speed, but only for those users who know how to use it

As TechSpot indicates in a recent publication, Rebound 11 is a tool that aims to improve the coherence of the user interface using WinUI3 and Windows App SDK without modifying essential system files. It offers a simple installation that introduces WinUI 3-based applications like text editors, a modern file explorer, or a redesigned Control Panel. Additionally, it does not modify critical system files, making it a safer option than other OS modification tools.

It also unifies application models

Thanks to Windows App SDK, a tool that unifies traditional application models (Win32) and UWP, it offers powerful tools for interface development. By doing so, Rebound 11 applications seamlessly integrate with Windows 11, maintaining compatibility with traditional Windows software and Microsoft Store applications. The modifications made by Rebound 11 are also completely reversible and, due to its open-source nature, its security is reinforced compared to other mods.

However, there is a condition that may exclude some users: Rebound 11 requires a relatively modern system. Currently, it needs a 2 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, 2 GB of free storage, and a GPU compatible with DirectX 12 to function properly. Nevertheless, unlike other tools, it does not interfere with Windows update tasks, ensuring that the system remains up-to-date. If Microsoft were to pay attention to what Rebound 11 offers, they could manage file system changes without causing issues for users, a problem they have not yet solved with official updates.
