Less than two months remain before the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the next major open world game from Ubisoft set in feudal Japan of the sixteenth century. The French company has been working on it for years, and we didn’t know many details about its environments, but now in the past few hours there has been an equivalence with which to compare the map of AC Shadows with other maps from the Assassin’s Creed series.
As noted by the artistic director of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Thierry Dansereau, in an interview with Gamesradar, the Japanese AC will have a map equivalent to Origins but bigger. The creative mentions the following: “We are talking about [Assassin’s Creed] Origins on a larger scale”, but also adds that the region of Japan where we will play is the Honshu island. “This is where all the events related to Oda Nobunaga take place.”
It has also been noted that it will not be a larger map than Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, where we could explore Norway, England, Asgard, Vinland, Jottunheim, and other regions in its DLC (Ireland, Paris). However, we also know that it will be a game larger in scale and size than Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as the latter was born as an expansion of AC Valhalla and was a smaller project than what Ubisoft usually offers with its large open worlds.
More details about the map of Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Several weeks ago, Ubisoft revealed some details, key locations about the world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and advanced that we will have up to 9 regions to explore: Harima, Iga, Kii, Omi, Settsu, Tamha, Yamashiro, Yamato, and Wakasa. However, we will also visit the major cities. “Something important happens in Osaka, Azuchi, and Kyoto,” indicated the head of Ubisoft Quebec, although there will also be extensive water areas. “We have coastal areas and Lake Biwa,” he said. In addition, the presence of Japanese castles has been ensured, as well as a greater number of mountains and valleys.
In 3DJuegos | Neither Ezio nor Eivor, with Assassin’s Creed Shadows it is the first time that a protagonist was a real character. The black samurai, Yasuke, existed
In 3DJuegos | I have seen nearly 45 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Ubisoft’s new open world in Japan is even larger than you expect
In 3DJuegos | Samurai are overrated. History has confirmed that their army was a drama, and neither Yasuke nor Naoe will change our minds
