Warner Bros. will need more than a million dollar cheque to convince Christopher Nolan. The director has turned them down and will continue with the competition.

Published:

Christopher Nolan may not hold a grudge against Warner Bros. after everything that happened following the release of Tenet, but the British filmmaker is still not ready to return to the studio that was his home for 20 years. Especially after discovering with Oppenheimer that working with a competitor company (Universal Pictures) can also be very successful.

And it’s not for lack of effort on the part of the owners of Harry Potter and Superman. According to reports from Variety, the film studio even paid a seven-figure sum to reimburse the filmmaker for the fees he had waived to release the aforementioned spy and science fiction thriller in theaters. Nolan took the check, but didn’t sign with Warner Bros. for his next movie.

What do we know about Christopher Nolan’s next project

We still don’t know what the project is about, but we do know two things for sure. First, it will once again be distributed by Universal Pictures; second, Matt Damon will be one of the lead actors. Nothing else has been revealed in the media, but rumors are circulating on social media. For example, it is said that the filmmaker is circulating a “high-quality” copy of Blue Thunder, an action thriller about a state-of-the-art assault helicopter directed by John Badham over 40 years ago, in 1983.

They say Nolan is drawing inspiration from Blue Thunder for his next movie.

The idea is not to make a remake of the film, but simply to take inspiration from it. From here, speculation begins about a science fiction story, but, we repeat, nothing has been reported by reputable media outlets. Christopher Nolan has certainly earned the right to keep us all intrigued about what his next big project for the industry will be.
