Tom Holland has already read the script for the new Spider-Man movie and has both good and bad news for Marvel fans

Published:

There has been much talk in recent months about what Spider-Man 4 will be like, and for now, we only have one certainty: it will be starring Tom Holland. After starring in three solo movies and appearing in some more ensemble films in the Marvel Studios MCU, the actor is preparing to once again be Peter Parker in a story of which he has already read a first draft of the script.

And? Well, there is some good news and some bad news. Let’s start with the bad news. According to an interview on Rich Roll’s podcast, there is still quite a bit of work ahead, although they believe they will make it on time:

“With Marvel, your movie is just one more piece of a big machine. That machine has to keep running, and you have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to serve the overall success. That is one of the challenges we face. It’s complicated because of the time we have, but I definitely think we’ll make it with the people working on it now.” — Tom Holland via Variety

“I read it and it sparked something in me”

What’s the good news? The script looks great according to the actor. “It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really sparked something in me. Zendaya and I read it together and sometimes we jumped for joy. This is something that deserves respect from the fans,” he added.

He also talked about the possibility of bringing Miles Morales into the MCU, although he did not confirm anything. “If I were lucky enough to bring him into my universe in some way, I would love to do for that little boy what Robert Downey Jr. did for me,” we read in GamesRadar.

We know from Kevin Feige that Marvel and Sony have been working together for over a year shaping the fourth film in the Spider-Man: Homecoming saga. Along the way, there have been discussions of differences between the two film studios, with some wanting to go for something more grounded, and others wanting a journey through the multiverse. It is not known who has won the battle, but Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) could be its director.

Jon Watts, the master behind the camera of the previous three movies, is now working on the Star Wars universe for his new series on Disney+. He also recently released a fun thriller on Apple TV+ a few days ago, Wolfs, starring Brad Pitts and George Clooney, which I talked about earlier this week on the pages of 3DJuegos.
