Mike Landau’s story is like many other entrepreneurs who, when they were tied hand and foot by the pandemic, had to resort to a radical change to move their companies forward. With remote work as the only option, the perspective of those who grew up believing that going to an office was the only way to create cohesion and teamwork completely fell apart.

From the office to 100% remote work

In a recent interview with Business Insider, Landau now acknowledges that his company continues to rely 100% on remote work. Although he started the adventure using remote work because he had no other choice, the experience has shown him that going back would be, at least in his case, a tremendous mistake.

The key to his success with remote work seems to lie in the possibilities that working from home has opened up for recruiting people from all over the world, but even more in the options it offers in terms of family reconciliation and schedule flexibility among those who work for him. He assures that, thanks to this, he has not had to worry about retaining personnel.

However, his company operates under certain non-negotiable conditions. First of all, all employees must have the camera connected and be willing to share their screens to streamline processes. In addition, in response to cases of returning to the office like Amazon’s, he believes that each company is different and that it may be necessary in certain cases. In any case, he believes that the pros of remote work far outweigh the cons.
