It’s Not a Quiet Place, but It Resembles It and Features the New Captain America as the Lead. Elevation’s Science Fiction Releases a Monstrous Trailer.

Published:

If you are one of those who love to travel to post-apocalyptic worlds where hordes of monsters are eager to end your life, there is a movie that has just released a trailer that you should already be checking out. Its name is Elevation, and it stars Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin.

Set in the Rocky Mountains

We certainly know very little about the narrative background of the film. It seems that Elevation is set in the Rocky Mountains of a post-apocalyptic world where a single father and two women venture out from the safety of their homes to confront fierce monsters and save a child’s life.

We have no idea how these horrifying creatures have come to this idyllic place in the United States, but it is clear that they will make us suffer. Perhaps the closest comparison we could make today would be to the A Quiet Place saga— in fact, it shares producers with that movie and The Purge—, where Earth is depicted as a place where a series of supposedly extraterrestrial monsters, guided by sound, seek to end each one of us.

Alien Romulus brings back the best and worst of the sci-fi saga. It is a movie made with care, but unable to handle its own fan service; a spoiler-free review

This first glimpse of Elevation clearly shows that these creatures have their own identity and promise not to wait for you to make any noise. But to better understand how they attack humans and why they are here, we will have to wait until November 8th, the movie’s release date in the U.S.

The movie is directed by George Nolfi, best known for his work as a screenwriter on projects like The Bourne Ultimatum or Spectral, where we faced a supernatural threat. The script for Elevation, however, is not his own, but by John Glenn, Kenny Ryan, and Jacob Roman. What do you think of the trailer?

By the way, Anthony Mackie seems to be enjoying the sci-fi genre, and we will soon see him again in Marvel Studios with the premiere of Captain America: Brave New World, scheduled for a February release. He also has the second season of the Twisted Metal series pending filming.
