“It sounds like a colossal error…”. PC Football 8 still hasn’t been released, and this time the blame lies with the Champions League and its new format – PC Football 8.

While there are few who are still on board with PC Football 8 after multiple delays of the video game and, above all, a major communication deficit, Una Partida Más continues to work on its development. This has been confirmed by Héctor Prats in an interview with ElDesmarque where he did not want to give a new release date, but did explain the latest flaws they have encountered.

“We didn’t consider the new format”

It is worth remembering that the new installment of the most beloved manager among Spanish fans (from 25 years ago) was initially supposed to hit stores in the spring, experiencing multiple delays since then that gradually eroded confidence in the project even among its most loyal supporters. But why hasn’t the video game been released yet? Héctor Prats explains in his conversation with the aforementioned media outlet that PC Football 8 was finished and fully assembled a month ago. Then, they decided to incorporate the new season and everything fell apart:

“With 20 seasons, we have to have a system very open to all kinds of changes, (…) but we didn’t consider the new Champions format. It sounds like a colossal planning error, and indeed, that mistake is mine for being focused on solving all the problems we have been dragging for a long time. But this version was going to be released initially without this new season.”

According to Héctor Prats, all of this could have been resolved quickly months ago when there were more than 30 people working on the manager. However, the project now suffers from an obvious shortage of staff. In fact, there are only three people currently working on PC Football 8. Will they be enough to complete the video game development? Only time will tell.

Una Partida Más does not want to make the wait any lighter by sharing new images of the project. The reason? To keep the surprise alive: “It’s nice to keep the screens secret. When everything is known, it loses a lot of charm.” He may be right, but with so much anticipation among potential buyers, a long gameplay trailer would help dispel some doubts.
