Many players have tested their skills in the Infernal Hordes of Diablo IV. This new feature, released with Season 5, involves surviving random waves of enemies in order to obtain ether; a resource that can be exchanged later for gold, materials, or equipment. However, a user has encountered a very rare event that not only allowed them to obtain a large amount of loot, but also demonstrates that Blizzard has not abandoned this idea.
User BadShae was the one who discovered this novelty in Diablo IV. As indicated in their post on Reddit, the player faced several waves of goblins in a session of the Infernal Hordes; an enemy that, in addition to being very rare in this Season 5 mechanic, drops a lot of loot. In fact, the community was very surprised by all the loot that BadShae obtained thanks to this coincidence.
An event that was considered patched
Although most members of the community have congratulated the player for their encounter with the goblins, some have responded to the Reddit post with surprise. After all, some believed that this event would not happen again in Diablo IV: “I thought they patched it so that goblins wouldn’t appear anymore,” writes user pksullivan. “There was an issue with them because they became invincible if they survived until the end of the wave and prevented progress, or something like that.” LtArson’s theory, on the other hand, is that Blizzard “didn’t patch it to remove it, but to fix the invincibility.”
It seems that goblins have caused more than one problem in the Infernal Hordes. According to user Rhalea, “I have seen a reddish goblin portal appear several times. All enemies that came out of it died instantly. I never saw loot drops in the Hordes and a goblin never appeared on the minimap.” Mverl responds with an anecdote about goblins that, quite literally, fell from the sky. In any case, Blizzard seems to have solved some of the problems with these rivals in the Infernal Hordes and, with a bit of luck, players can access their precious loot.
