Elon Musk has not taken being sued by the producers of Blade Runner 2049 very well and has responded in his own way.

A few days ago we told you at 3DJuegos about the lawsuit filed against Elon Musk and Tesla for allegedly using copyrighted images from Blade Runner 2049 to promote their latest futuristic idea. The producers of the science fiction movie wanted to distance themselves as much as possible from the owner of Twitter. Now, we have the response from the defendant.

A three-word response

And as you can imagine it has not been exactly diplomatic. Using the social network now known as X, the South African entrepreneur and magnate wanted to make it clear to the world how much he despised Denis Villeneuve’s film. He did so using just three words: “This movie stank.” A somewhat curious statement, considering his appreciation for Ridley Scott’s original work.

As Variety recalls, Musk, Tesla, and Warner Bros. are accused of improperly appropriating footage from Blade Runner 2049, produced by Alcon Entertainment, to promote Tesla’s ‘robotaxi’ a few weeks ago. In more detail, the lawsuit alleges that Musk’s company used AI-generated images representing scenes from BR 2049 after Alcon explicitly denied permission to use images from their production.

The outcome of this issue is not entirely clear, but certainly in Hollywood there are many who have shown their concern about anything related to AI. Remember Scarlett Johansson’s accusation against ChatGPT for using a voice “eerily similar” to hers in one of their products. Blade Runner 2049 can currently be seen on Max and Netflix.

Blade Runner 2049 is considered a major flop, but also one of the best science fiction movie sequels, considering the original product it honored, and a showcase of the talent of its director. In its story, we follow a new Blade Runner (Ryan Gosling), Officer K of the Los Angeles Police, who discovers an ancient secret that could plunge society into chaos.
