Disney Confirms a Major Theory About The Lion King That No One Noticed. This is the Disturbing Detail About Scar’s Past

Published:

The Lion King is one of Disney’s biggest successes and one of the most acclaimed animated works in history, but even today, we continue to receive new details that help complete the many questions that fans had about its characters, and more importantly, about its villains. It is known that Disney has sought to expand the universes of its films through other resources, such as novels or comics. Thus, through the “Disney Villains” saga, we have been able to discover new details about villains like Hades, Maleficent, Cruella, and Scar. And it is precisely around this character that one of the most striking revelations revolves.

Magic Appears in The Lion King

Magic is not an unknown element in Disney movies. Villains like Maleficent or Hades use it to try to carry out their plans, but this was something we had not seen in The Lion King.

It is true that the character of Rafiki acts as a shaman and that Mufasa’s appearance in the clouds is a phenomenon, to say the least, paranormal, but at no time is the plot focused on the use of enchantments. This is even more surprising when, through the fourth issue of Scar’s comic series, we discover a great revelation about his past.

At the beginning of the comic, we see Rafiki delving into Scar’s mind through dreams. “What have you done, Rafiki?” the villain accuses him, to which the monkey replies, “I haven’t done anything, this is your dream.” And here is where the revelation comes. “I know a spell when I hear it,” the lion replies. “Of course you do, you learned from the best. Me.”

This fact not only makes it clear that Scar was Rafiki’s apprentice in the past, that is, before he became corrupted, when he was still known as “Taka,” but also the fact that there is no reason why Mufasa did not also learn magical arts, so the scene of the clouds might have been the result of a spell. But furthermore, the interesting thing here is to know why the villain never used any enchantment to gain power.
