Internet has become the birthplace of many transmedia products, so it’s no surprise to learn that some online phenomena are turned into movies, series, or video games. However, few expected that Question Hound, the protagonist dog from the Gunshow comic that you may primarily know from the meme ‘This is fine’, would take a leap into the realm of digital adventures. This ultimately confirms the existence of This is Fine: Maximum Cope.
Although we all know him from that image where he looks quite content surrounded by a fire, Question Hound is actually the protagonist of a comic created by the author KC Green. Now, this professional has announced This is Fine: Maximum Cope as ‘a platforming experience’ that draws mainly from classic releases. It should be noted, however, that we are talking about ‘an initial idea’ whose fate will be determined by its success on Kickstarter.
“I’m here with the guys from Numskull Games and we are working together on ‘a classic platforming game,’ old-school,’ where Question Hound delves into his subconscious to ‘fight against the monsters and demons’ that, similarly, we all have in our brains,” indicates the creator on the Kickstarter website. “The kind of creatures that feed on the fear and anxiety of everyday life!”.
“Run, jump, and use your new abilities to explore the cluttered mind of Question Hound and help him defeat the nasty creatures!” continues the adventure’s description. “Help him keep the waves of depression at bay! And shine a light on his darkest fears! ‘Maybe we can all learn some kind of skill’ along the way? Or at least, we can enjoy a great game for a brief respite.”
The Kickstarter campaign is about to start
These details serve as the first introduction to This is Fine: Maximum Cope and, due to the popularity of the Question Hound meme online, there are already many people interested in supporting the game. It should be noted, however, that the Kickstarter campaign has not started yet; according to KC Green’s statement, the funding period will start on September 26th.
