We’ve talked enough about Baldur’s Gate 3 and Patch 7, one that adds official mod support on PC (coming to consoles weeks later) and other highly requested additions. However, we haven’t mentioned the great potential of the modding community in the award-winning fantasy RPG. In just a few days, players are already diving into the tool created by Larian Studios, and there are some noteworthy contents to discuss.
The truth is, Baldur’s Gate 3 has now changed forever because it is a much larger, deeper, and more customizable game with the modding tool. If you play on PC, you can see a mod manager with all the content the community is creating, which makes the process of installing them easier and faster. That’s why modding has surprised the CEO of Larian Studios and director of Baldur’s Gate 3, Swen Vincke, who mentions the following on his X/Twitter account.
“Modding is quite big, we had over a million mods installed in less than 24 hours,” he states (via Gamesradar). Currently, websites like mod.io claim that the fantasy RPG has accumulated 1.4 million downloads just today. Installing mods in Baldur’s Gate 3 can enhance and improve the experience, from new cosmetics to new playable classes and races, as well as UI improvements and XP multipliers.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 will not be the last
A few hours ago, we published some good news for Baldur’s Gate 3 players, as its creators have stated in the last few hours that Patch 7 is not the final update for the fantasy RPG. There are pending tasks, such as cross-platform play and the photo mode, but it’s also important to remember that both on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the modding tool should arrive, expanding the scope of modding in the game.
