As a user pointed out in a Reddit post, his friend bought a Gaming PC with two main components: an Intel i9 13900 processor and an RTX 3060 Ti from NVIDIA, one of the most popular graphics cards today. Given this configuration, many believed that the ideal price would have been around 800 or 900 euros. However, the issue is that his friend spent more than double, as he invested 1,700 euros.
A disastrous and poorly thought out setup
In addition to the above, his setup uses single-channel RAM. Additionally, the seller also included a questionable quality CPU cooler. Therefore, the comments were filled with warnings and advice for the author’s friend, as many pointed out that he paid 850 euros for an RTX 3060 Ti setup and also “another 850 euros to line the pockets of some opportunistic assembler”.
This story once again demonstrates that having basic knowledge about the value of what you are buying can prevent you from overpaying for a product that is not worth it. While craftsmanship is important, the author’s friend paid twice the real value for a setup that is far from being worth the 1,700 euros he invested. Therefore, if you are going to buy a Gaming PC, make sure you are aware of its real value, otherwise you could end up paying an unnecessary markup.
