He bought a graphics card for 37 euros thinking it was “a stone in a box” and received a 600 euro GPU

It is not the first time we come across a risky purchase that may be linked to a possible scam. For example, a user spent 56 euros on a broken laptop, but managed to make a brilliant move, as it was actually a functional 1,700 euros Gaming PC. However, the protagonist of today’s story was luckier, as he managed to save nearly 600 euros by trusting an Amazon seller to buy a graphics card.

As PC Gamer points out in a recent publication, a user decided to buy a RTX 4070 SUPER on Amazon to take advantage of an offer of 37 euros, well below the usual 600 euros that such a unit typically costs. Initially skeptical, he believed he would receive a rock in a box instead of the GPU he purchased. However, to his surprise, he had received his brand new graphics card 24 hours later.

Provided evidence of his stroke of luck

As many users did not believe his story, the protagonist decided to provide evidence in the original Reddit thread. This way, everyone could see that it was not a pricing error or a fake publication. After that, the user proceeded to test the graphics card and noted that it was in perfect condition, as he was able to run several games at a very competent resolution. He also ruled out that it had been used for mining cryptocurrencies.

Although Amazon has reliable retailers, sometimes some use these kinds of strategies to scam users. Therefore, if you come across a unit that is significantly below its usual selling price, it is advisable to be cautious before making any purchase. However, in very rare occasions, some users have strokes of luck and get historical bargains at truly laughable prices.
