Do you want to play The Witcher 4 before anyone else? CD Projekt RED is looking for testers to try out the fantasy RPG in an early stage – The Witcher: A New Saga Begins

Published:

There are still several years until the next CD Projekt RED games. Following the success of Cyberpunk 2077, the most advanced video game at CD Projekt today is not the remake of the first The Witcher, but The Witcher 4. This project should have entered the production phase after several months with over 400 developers behind it, but a recent announcement has surprised players because they will be able to test the next title in the fantasy RPG saga.

CD Projekt RED has announced on their social media that the company’s testing program will reach the United States, and the interesting part is that you can sign up to test the company’s upcoming titles. These are by no means finished games, they are projects in a very early stage of development. The developer says they will select you “if your profile aligns with what we are looking for,” and that’s where the requirements come in.

The publisher indicates that you must be at least 16 years old and either located, or ready to travel to Boston to participate in “on-site activities.” It also states that you must be “a gaming enthusiast and eager to share your knowledge,” and likewise you cannot “be involved in game development professionally.” It seems simple to be eligible, but surely CD Projekt will be much more selective in selecting candidates for their testing program, as pointed out by Gamesradar.

What if I am eligible to test the next The Witcher?

If you are very lucky, then you will need to be contacted by a representative from CD Projekt RED who will get in touch with you and you will receive the invitation “at least a few days before” the particular test begins. Once there, you will likely play a very early version of The Witcher 4 (after all, it is the most advanced game from the company). While first you must register by logging into your CDPR account and submit a form, there in Boston you will have to answer several questions and be placed with a “special team” that will “monitor your pulse, eye movements, or other physical factors to evaluate how you react to various events.”

The boss of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel acknowledges the harsh truth, some players will never return because it is 'the price we have to pay'

Today, CD Projekt is working on The Witcher 4, although in that IP they also have important titles in preparation such as a spin-off and the remake of the first The Witcher game. Besides that, the company has created an entire team dedicated to the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, of which very few details are known. However, it is possible that we will see before this futuristic action RPG a new animated project of Cyberpunk with Netflix.
