Could be the biggest boss in a Fallout game. Fallout 76 will be better soon thanks to its upcoming content – Fallout 76

Published:

Since the launch of Fallout 76 in 2018, Bethesda’s MMORPG has evolved with a lot of content, regular updates, expansions, new regions, etc. The company’s post-apocalyptic universe has managed to capture the attention of an active community that wants to keep playing the game with more exciting experiences. There are significant updates for the game following the Fallout Day celebration, and we will tell you about them below.

The recent event has revealed that the map of Fallout 76 will expand with a new dungeon called The Gleaming Depths, which will come with new content. The highlight is a huge final boss in the form of a giant snake, with Bethesda suggesting it could be the franchise’s largest enemy ever. They mention that we will have to face it in a dungeon as if it were a classic MMO, meaning we will have to cooperate with other players to defeat this beast.

The challenge and difficulty are more than guaranteed because players are recommended to have a level 300 or higher before venturing into this raid. “The Gleaming Depths is a kind of traditional MMO-style dungeon that should pose a real challenge for our end-level players,” explains senior mission designer Chris Marshall during the broadcast, revealing that this dungeon is located in an abandoned research laboratory.

Good news for Season 2 of Fallout. The Prime Video series will start filming in a few days

“Your team will have to battle through several incredibly demanding encounters, and once you start, there’s no going back. Win or die,” reveals (via PC Gamer). This dungeon is quite ambitious and challenging, where you will have to complete multiple phases, defeat powerful enemies like an ultra-violent giant robot, fend off mole miners, and even a trio of Enclave members with power armor. In this “final battle, you will need precise teamwork to secure victory.”

This is what the biggest boss of Fallout 76 looks like.

Next, you will have to face the enormous snake, the real challenge of this dungeon. “When you first see this thing, it’s very intimidating: it’s huge, and you’ll feel like there’s no way to dodge it,” clarifies producer Ryan Fox. “This will be content that really appeals to end-game users,” mentions Lead Producer Bill Lacoste. “It’s definitely the biggest boss in Fallout 76 and could be the largest boss in any Fallout game overall,” they assure.

If you manage to defeat it, the rewards would be new four-star weapons and armors. The update for Gleaming Depths is expected to arrive in December with more than one novelty, specifically the appearance of pets in the camp. “You’ll be able to interact with your pets, dress them up, and even place furniture like a cat scratcher.” We will also see new titles for players, to add a prefix and suffix for user cards.

The Necrofago, another big addition to Fallout 76

At the end of the event, it was hinted that fishing could possibly land in Fallout 76 in the future. But one of the great novelties of the MMORPG that we have seen in the broadcast is the arrival of the Necrofago as a playable character in Fallout 76. We’re not talking about something just aesthetic, but it will have abilities that will differentiate it radically from other characters. It will have the ability to rip the faces off a Bloodied, which is one of the most feared creatures in the franchise, although its other characteristics should also be highlighted.

In early 2025, players will be able to turn their character into a Necrofago, with significant gameplay changes, such as absorbing radiation. “You will no longer have to worry about contracting a serious disease because you will be immune to radiation damage. As a necrofago, radiation will heal you and possibly unlock unique abilities.” In combat, a Necrofago will be able to access new cards that allow you to break limbs or, when drinking water or eating food, receive up to 200% radiation.

Traveling to Mexico in Fallout will be possible thanks to this mod that has just presented a trailer of its post-apocalyptic world

Bethesda boasts that this changes the gameplay for many, although there are some disadvantages to note. “This will open up dozens of new playstyles. Instead of hunger and thirst, you’ll have a new wildness meter to control. Depending on your playstyle, you could even afford to get a little wild, it has some advantages of its own, like becoming a berserker melee fighter who can rip the face off a Bloodied.” The disadvantages are that “many characters and factions like the Brotherhood of Steel will not take kindly to your new look, even if you have a new stylish wig.” However, Bethesda has pointed out that there is “a way to trick them” that has not been revealed yet.

In addition, the AP reserve will be smaller, and weapon accuracy at a distance will decrease by 300% when near radiation. The studio has also clarified that becoming a Necrofago is not a permanent decision, and it is possible to become human again without losing progress. “It’s an important decision, but we also don’t want to do anything that negatively affects anyone’s character forever. So there’s the option for your character to become human again, and you won’t lose any progress or anything you’ve done as a Necrofago,” concludes.
