One of the most important aspects when choosing a Gaming PC is game optimization. Despite many believing that a large investment implies having the best possible quality at your fingertips, the truth is that many elements influence configuring your gaming session on PC. And that’s why a developer has shared his particular recipe for success to make the most of gaming on this platform.
As indicated by the German portal Mein-MMO in a recent publication, the developer Peter Thoman started making a name for himself in the world of modding thanks to his work with Dark Souls. After that, he managed to reach the position of CTO at PH3 Games, a company dedicated to porting games to PC. Thus, in recent months, he has been working on titles like Ys X: Nordics, a project in which he managed to increase from 106 to 314 fps by carrying out 4 optimizations. And, luckily for many, he has decided to share his formula to bring joy to users.
The most important thing is continuous work
As the original news article points out, the game initially had serious performance issues with AMD graphics cards, but they managed to solve this aspect shortly after. After that, they decided to test with a game area that demanded a lot from the CPU, as it would serve as a reference for optimizations. In addition, they also removed console version settings (for example, reducing FPS for distant characters), thus managing to significantly improve performance on PC.
Thus, the first optimizations resulted in great improvements, but as they progressed, the increases in fps became smaller. In fact, although the initial optimizations took a few days, the final adjustments required weeks, and therefore, Thoman decided to share a reflection with the world: the key is continuous work. He emphasized the need to keep working to fine-tune game performance, although he revealed that the benefits diminish as you progress. Therefore, for this developer, the most important thing to enjoy on PC is optimizing resources and dedicating time to find the most beneficial way to play.
