Silent Hill 2 Remake reaches successful sales milestone with 1 million copies sold – Konami announces.

Published:

Do you remember that famous combat trailer for Silent Hill 2 Remake that was shown in a State of Play several months ago? The community was not satisfied with what Konami showed, even the CEO of Bloober Team acknowledged that the trailer did not capture the essence of Silent Hill 2 Remake. However, the Polish studio asked players to trust in the survival horror, and the truth is that they gradually gained the confidence of practically everyone.

Now, all that journey culminates in the overwhelming success of Silent Hill 2 Remake. Konami announced in a statement the number of sales after just a few days on the market, and both the Japanese company and Bloober Team can boast of having sold over 1 million copies. However, this figure was not achieved in just one week, but it took only three days to reach one million games sold on both PC and PS5.

A comparison with the original Silent Hill 2 has been provided by the popular industry analyst, Daniel Ahmad, on his Twitter account. He indicated that the survival horror released in 2001 needed a month to reach the sales figure that the Remake achieved, that is, 1 million units sold. However, Bloober Team’s work could continue to sell very well in the coming weeks and reach record numbers for the franchise, and it would not be strange for the Polish developers to receive a new call from Konami to continue making games as good as Silent Hill 2 Remake.

Bloober Team would continue collaborating with Konami

We recently reported that the creators of Silent Hill 2 believe they will continue working with Konami on new projects, although the type of titles is still unknown. Many are calling for a remake of the first Silent Hill game, as it needs a good facelift. “Bloober Team continues to collaborate with Konami and negotiations with Konami will continue. It is to be expected that this [release of Silent Hill 2 Remake] is not the end of the adventure with Konami,” said Piotr Bavioeno, CEO of the development studio.
