FromSoftware is synonymous with excellence, with great projects that still remain in the memory of many players. The Japanese company has signed some of the best games in history, and even as a DLC for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree has become a tremendous success with 5 million units sold in just two weeks. Now, to thank its workers and give them the recognition they deserve, the management team of FromSoftware has announced that it will raise the average salary of its employees by 11.8%.
This change, which will take effect from April 2025, represents a considerable effort to improve the working conditions of its team. This increase, as FromSoftware itself has mentioned in an official statement signed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, is part of a strategy that seeks to strengthen the commitment to its employees and promote a more rewarding work environment.
In addition to this general increase, newly graduated employees joining FromSoftware will also benefit from a salary improvement. The initial monthly salary will increase from 260,000 yen (approximately 1,609 euros at the exchange rate) to 300,000 yen (about 1,858.95 euros). With these measures, the company aims to attract and retain new talent in the industry, ensuring that both current and future employees have a competitive salary that reflects their efforts.
In the aforementioned official statement, FromSoftware expressed its commitment to creating a work environment that not only provides economic stability but also allows employees to fully dedicate themselves to their personal and professional development. “We strive to create games that convey emotions, create value, and inspire joy. Increasing base and starting salaries is one of the measures to achieve that goal,” the company stated. This approach highlights the importance of taking care of its employees to have a positive impact on the entertainment industry.
Elden Ring could seek success even beyond the video game
In parallel with the studio’s continued success, rumors of a possible film or television adaptation of Elden Ring have generated great anticipation among fans. Although George R.R. Martin, responsible for the world-building of Elden Ring, has not officially confirmed anything, his recent mention of the game’s success and the awards received suggests that the possibility of an adaptation is still on the table.
