When it comes to getting cheap games, the bridges between consoles and PC have long been demolished. However, this last platform remains the favorite for those who want to spend little and play a lot, and today’s offer is a clear example of that. GOG has gone all out with Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the renowned medieval open-world RPG from Warhorse, for just 3 euros; even its complete edition is on sale for 5 euros.
In 2019, an independent team released a curious role-playing game set in medieval Bohemia where, to differentiate themselves from the competition, Warhorse opted for a more realistic approach, both in its story and gameplay. The idea was to control Henry, a peasant with barely enough to eat who gets involved in a war for the throne of the Holy Roman Empire after the death of King Charles IV. A tale of revenge without the sugary Hollywood epicness and with rough controls to emulate the realism of the medieval world.
One of the successes of Kingdom Come was its focus on real-time combat, without frills, and based on sword clashes. In the style of For Honor, you will have four defensive positions, while attacks must be planned carefully as they can leave you vulnerable.
The result was a divisive project at the time, with a large segment of players criticizing it and others praising its historical accuracies. In fact, it became one of the most played games on Steam at the time, and even reached six million units sold by February of this year 2024.
So, if you have ever been curious about it, GOG makes it very easy for you. The basic edition of the game, which gives you access to 40 hours of adventure, can be yours for only 3 euros. Additionally, if you want to enjoy the entire RPG as a whole, the Royal Edition, which includes the base game, the three story expansions, and the two content DLCs, for just 7 euros. However, it is worth noting that it will only be available until October 8th.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a reality, but it arrives later
Regardless of which group you belong to, if you haven’t made the leap to Warhorse’s medieval RPG yet, now is the perfect time to do so. Its sequel, announced shortly before summer, has become, on its own merits, one of the most anticipated projects of the year. However, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will take some time, and its release is now expected on February 11, 2025.
