Are you ready for Silent Hill 2 Remake? The survival horror game will be released on October 7th, and players are receiving important updates about it. The latest news is that PlayStation has confirmed the features of the DualSense controller in the Silent Hill 2 remake, ensuring an immersive horror experience. However, users of PS5 and PC are eager to play the title published by Konami, but it seemed that the Japanese company was not very sure about releasing the survival horror on this platform.
The CEO of Bloober Team, Piotr Babieno, mentioned in a recent financial presentation (reported by the Polish Bankier) that, at the beginning of the development, they had to push Konami to release Silent Hill 2 Remake on PC. The executive of the Polish studio confirmed: “Definitely, Silent Hill 2 is a game that has been associated with the PlayStation brand from the beginning. At first, we had to push Konami a lot to lean towards the PC option,” they indicate.
“For them, the main market is PlayStation, while considering the interest on Steam, it seems like it should also be a successful release,” Babieno revealed. Fortunately for thousands of PC players, Silent Hill 2 Remake will debut on Steam in a few days, and you can already check out its minimum and recommended requirements. Additionally, they also talk about the relationship with Konami and the Polish developer, and there are certainly good news that we will discuss next.
Konami and Bloober Team will continue collaborating
The executive vice president of the studio confirms that there may be more projects in collaboration with Konami. “Of course, we continue to reach agreements with Konami all the time, because this work was still ongoing. As usual in publishing contracts, goals and revenues are shared until the end of cooperation with the publisher. In fact, we have not seen any revenue from these milestones in the second quarter. Bloober Team continues to collaborate with Konami and there will be continued negotiations with Konami,” stated Karolina Nowak, CFO of Bloober Team.
Babieno commented that “we can expect that this [Silent Hill 2 Remake launch] is not the end of the adventure with Konami.” This statement suggests that they could work on future horror games with Konami, and it wouldn’t be surprising to dream of a remake of the first Silent Hill if the second installment meets the expectations set by the community, Konami, and Bloober Team.
